It seems that every time you read about this young band from Dublin, they are being compared to Mumford and Sons or Of Monsters and Men. Most bands would consider this a huge compliment, but not Little Green Cars. Guitarist Adam O'Regan said, "It gets a little annoying, especially because we don't think we sound anything like Mumford and Sons." I would have to agree with O'Regan. The only thing they have in common with these bands is their tendency to use vocal harmonies in their songs. This comes with the great help of Faye O'Rouke, the backup singer, who, to me has an uncanny resemblance to Adele (listen to "My Love Took Me Down To The River To Silence Me").
Formed in 2008, the band began to receive American attention when Philadelphia based radio station WXPN began to play their hit song "The John Wayne." This subsequently led to a Late Night with Jimmy Fallon appearance and a tour invitation with up and coming artist Jake Bugg. Their debut album, Absolute Zero, has exceeded expectation and been praised by music critics. I would definitely look for more good things to come from this Dublin quartet.
