This past Thursday, I had the opportunity to see OneRepublic live at Penn State as part of the truthLIVE tour. OneRepublic is not a concert I would typically go to, but it was free and attending a BJC concert was on my freshmen bucket list so I figured why not. To my pleasant surprise, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Let me just say that Ryan Tedder, the headman of the group, puts on a wild show. Not only can he bang out high notes left and right, he played to the crowd all night. Dressed in a PSU football jersey, he kept commenting on how much he loved Penn State and its students. Obviously, this just got the crowd pumped up and everyone was going crazy all night (or maybe it was just cause everyone was trashed). Either way, the place was booming all night for the relatively small crowd in attendance. One of the best parts of the show and one thing I never realized was just how many hit songs OneRepublic has. It always gives me a nice laugh when I am at a concert and a band plays their hit song and the place just goes wild. Well, that was every song for OneRepublic. Everybody in the crowd knew every word to every song and it made for a wild, loud night. I honestly have to say I would pay upwards of $40 to see them live again, that's how good it was. If you ever get the chance to see them live, even if you're not a huge fan, go. You won't be disappointed.
