This indie-rock band from Seattle released their second album, Let's Be Still, this past month. Landing in the Number 1 Spot on Billboard's Top Folk Albums, this record definitely had a different, more unique sound than their self-titled debut album, released two years ago. With a more matured sound, the band prided itself on blending multiple genres in this latest album. They credit this to inspiration received from watching bands like Dr. Dog and Iron & Wine while on tour. Vocal harmonies and improved instrumentals are definitely the two hidden gems of the album, however. An increased piano presence is felt in this latest album and it is backed with a nice melody of guitar and drums. The first track recorded for the album, Shake, has received rave reviews in the music community and is gaining popularity quickly. After two incredibly successful albums, this band is looking to climb even higher. I would expect good things to come from this band in the future as they look to improve their sound while staying true to their roots.
